Cornhole Tournament in Byesville The Byesville Assembly of God will host a Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, May 16 at 1 p.m. Registration begins at 12 noon. There is no entry fee. There will be a separate tournament for children ages 12-under. Prizes will be awarded and there will be free food and drink provided. The event is sponsored by Guernsey County Sportsmen for Conservation. Starting position is based on arrival of entry forms. Entry fee is $40 in advance or $50 the day of the event. NEOCATS to Visit Seneca Lake The Northeast Ohio Catfish Angler's Tournament Series will hit the waters of the Seneca Lake on Saturday, May 16. This is the opportunity for local catfish anglers to compete for cash, prizes and a chance to advance to the NEOCATS Classic to be held at Clear Fork Reservoir in October and to qualify to compete in Cabela's King Kat Classic. The NEOCATS Tournament Trail is the opportunity for catfish anglers to advance to a new level with a major payback and media recognition for their abilities. The trail is a team event. Teams will consist of one or two persons with one exception. A third person may accompany the team provided the third person is under 16 years of age or over 65 years of age. Entry fees for these tournaments are $50 per team and are open to anyone. The tournament registration will be at the S.R. 574 Boat Ramp, north of the Dam. Tournament hours are 8 p.m. until 8 a.m. Participants may enter at 7 p.m. the day of the tournament. The top two teams at each qualifying event will qualify for the Cabela's King Kat Classic. Also at each event, products from national sponsors will be drawn for following the tournament weigh-in. To help preserve the sport only live fish will be weighed in and all fish will be released after the tournament. Boys' Basketball Tourney in Parkersburg The boys' basketball programs at Parkersburg High and Parkersburg South are hosting the sixth annual Mid-Ohio Valley Invitational basketball tournament May 15-17 in Parkersburg. The tournament is sanctioned through Ohio Youth Basketball. The cost is $250 per team with a three-game guarantee. Boys' divisions included grades 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10/11. Kiristi Singleton Memorial Golf Scramble The Fourth annual Kiristi Singleton Memorial Scholarship three-man golf scramble will take place at Robins' Ridge Golf Course on Saturday, May 16 with an 8 a.m. start. The cost is $55 per person. Payout will go to the top five places. Food and beverages will be provided, along with T-shirts for every participant. Door and hole prizes will also be awarded. All proceeds will go to the Kiristi Singleton scholarship fund at Meadowbrook High School. To date, $5,500 has been awarded to graduating girls. Cambridge Firefighters Open Scramble The 21st Annual Cambridge Firefighters Open three-man golf scramble is slated for Saturday, May 23 at Wildfire Golf Club in New Concord. Registration opens at 7 a.m. for an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Cash prizes will be paid for the top three placing teams. There will be door prizes, free beverages and food at the turn. Dinner will be served following the outing. Entry fee is $50 per player. Register and pay prior to May 16 and each player receives a ticket for the blowout drawing, prizes to include: a set of Taylor Made Burner Plus irons; an Adams Insight XTD driver; an Odyssey Golf 2 Ball SRT putter; and a Callaway camouflage stand bag. Registration fee after May 16 is $60 per player, and no blowout drawing tickets will be issued. $10 of each team's entry fee will be placed into the skins game. Items will not be substituted for cash or other prizes. Run Walk and Role for the Rule 5K Rescheduled The first annual Run, Walk and Roll for the Rule 5K has been rescheduled for Saturday May 30 at 9 a.m. The race will take place rain or shine at the Cambridge High School cross country course and the track at the new high school campus. The cost for the event is $10 for runners, $5 for walkers and wheelchairs or those with strollers. Walkers may use the track or walk the cross country course. T-shirts for all participants and overall and division winners awarded. Registration will take place from 7:30-9:00 a.m. on the day of the race. Wiffleball Tournament in Cambridge Cambridge Wrestling Boosters and Cambridge Biddy League Football will host a wiffleball tournament fund-raiser on Sunday, May 31 at Cambridge City Park. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by the games starting at 10 a.m. The tournament will consist of two divisions -- a youth "Little League" division and an open division. Habitat for Humanity Golf Invitational Guernsey County Habitat for Humanity will be having its third annual golf invitational Friday, June 19 at Country Club. Muskingum Football Golf Outing The Muskingum College Annual Football Golf Outing is now accepting registrations. The event will be held at the Cambridge Country Club on Friday, June 5, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Proceeds from the outing will assist with the purchase of computers for the Jones Players Lounge and recruiting. Cost is $85 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart and dinner buffet. Cambridge Rotary Golf Scramble The Cambridge Rotary Club is hosting a four-person scramble on Saturday, June 13 at Wildfire Golf Course. Cost is $200 per team which covers golf, a cart and lunch. The scramble has a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., and registration opens at 7:30 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for first ($300), second ($200) and third ($100). Proceeds benefit the Rotary Club in its efforts with Rotary International in eliminating Polio. 12th Run for the Arts Moves to Salt Fork It is time to register for the 12th Run for the Arts 5 & 10K race & 5K Race Walk. The Run for the Arts is moving to the Salt Fork State Park Beach. Added new this year is a 10K race and a 5K Race Walk. This year's event will be Saturday June 13 beginning at 8:30 a.m. The first 50 registrants for the race or the walk will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Trophies will be awarded to the top three women and men overall and to the top finisher in each age group of both the 5 & 10K races. Medals will be awarded to the second and third place race finishers in each of the following age groups: 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and above. The race and walk will start and finish in the parking lot of the Park Beach. Times are as follows: Registration for all events begins at 7 a.m.; the 10K Run will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by the 5K run and the 5K Walk will begin at 8:40 am. Pre-registration until June 6. Muskingum College Roundball Camp The 39th Annual Muskingum College Roundball Camp in now accepting registrations. The camp will run June 21-25 and is open to boys entering grades 5-12. The camp cost is $300 and all campers will be housed in college dormitories. Meals will be served three times a day on campus. Team and individual competition will be included in the daily activities, which will be aimed toward developing individual improvement in the fundamental skills of the game of basketball. Reds Legends Youth Clinic The annual Cincinnati Reds Legends Youth Baseball Clinic will take place at VFW Field in Marietta from June 22-24 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The camp is a non-profit event. Wooster Basketball Camp for Girls The Wooster Basketball Camp for Girls is offering two sessions of overnight camp for girls entering grades 4-12.
