Zane State College fund-raiser includes unique experiences through live auctionDecember 31, 2009
ZANESVILLE -- The Zane State College Foundation has announced several unique packages that will be available during a live auction at the College's New Year's Eve formal masquerade ball on Thursday, Dec. 31. Funds raised from the packages, which include two luxury beach vacations, an "Insider" tour of Washington D.C., and a sports package, will be used to transform the College's Information Technology classroom into a state-of-the art Information Technology Team Development Lab. "Thanks to the generous contributions of several members of the community, we have assembled packages that would not otherwise be easy to obtain by potential purchasers," said Pamela Jira, executive director of the Zane State College Foundation. "Masquerade Ball guests will have the opportunity to bid on amazing packages while insuring through their contributions that our students are even more prepared to fill the high-demand technology roles in our community." Packages include: * A wine tasting package, which allows the purchaser to entertain friends and family at his or her home or at the home of Zane State College president Paul Brown and Linda Brown. Wine lovers will enjoy five exquisite courses of a gourmet meal paired with wines valued at $50 to $90 a bottle. The wines will be introduced and described by John Matesich. * A Washington "Insiders" tour package, which includes a private tour with U.S. Senator Michael Brown (D-District of Columbia) through inner sanctums normally reserved for Washington "Insiders," lodging, and lunch in the Senate Dining Hall. * Week-long beach vacations at a spectacular five bedroom home in Marco Island, Florida and the prestigious Margate at Kingston Plantation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Golf, tennis, and a multitude of water activities are located within minutes from each location. * A sports package, which includes a luxury Cincinnati Reds Excursion and two tickets to an Ohio State University football game -- both donated by WHIZ Media Group -- as well as a golf outing for four at EagleSticks Golf Club. * A media package, which includes billboard (donated by Barnes Advertising), newspaper (donated by The Times Recorder and The Daily & Sunday Jeffersonian), and radio (donated by WYBZ) advertising. In addition to the live auction, a silent auction will provide opportunities for guests to obtain more modestly priced treasures. Donations from Pugh's Diamond Jewelers, Fred Astaire Dance Studios, and area restaurants will be among the items available for bid. A complete list of available packages is located at www.zanestate.edu. Tickets for the event are still available.
