Barbara Evancho, 74, of Pleasant City, passed away Tuesday (Jan. 19, 2010) at Red Carpet Health Care Center. She was born April 30, 1935, in Pleasant City, daughter of the late Michael and Kathrene (Stasko) Evancho. Mrs. Evancho retired from March Electric after 35 years of service. She was a member of St. Michael's Church, and was a 1953 graduate of Pleasant City High School. She loved working in her yard, cutting grass and taking care of her flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters. She is survived by one brother, Paul (Mary) Evancho of Cambridge; two sisters, Pauline Woytko of Pleasant City and Betty Zvolensky of Cambridge; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24 at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, with Parastas services at 7 p.m. Funeral services were Jan. 25, 2010, at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. John Capaton officiating. Burial was in St. Michael's Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donation be made to Hospice of Guernsey, P.O. Box1165, Cambridge, OH 43725.
