Anniversary: Melvin N. "Bud" and Julianna Doane of Pleasant

Melvin N. "Bud" and Julianna Doane of Pleasant City celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 9, 2010.

On Feb. 9, 1960, Julianna Divinsky, daughter of the late John and Mary Divinsky, and Melvin N. "Bud" Doane, son of the late Myrtle Spencer and Walter Doane, were united in marriage at St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church in Pleasant City.

The Rev. Fr. Michael Evanick officiated the ceremony.

Mrs. Doane is a homemaker and self-employed.

Mr. Doane is retired but continues to work on the farm. He is a former delivery truck driver and a Ohio State Prison employee.

The couple have three children, John E. (Polly) Doane of Pleasant City, Julia Faye Doane of Ft. Mill, S.C., and M. David (Rachel) Doane of Cambridge.

Completing the family circle are five grandchildren, Joe (Amanda) Doane of Columbus, Christa (Durant) Hins and Joseph Hatten, both of Ft. Mill, S.C., Shelby Doane and Brian Doane, both of Cambridge; and two great-grandchildren.

The couple will celebrate the special occasion at a later date.
