Dorothy M. Church, 83, of Pleasant City, passed away Tuesday (Feb. 2, 2010) at Southeastern Med in Cambridge.

She was born Aug. 23, 1926, in Pleasant City, daughter of the late Roy and Gladys (Masters) Black.

Mrs. Church retired from Hamilton Beach, after many years of service. She was a former employee of Cambridge Glass House and Ekco Housewares.

She was a member of Pleasant City United Methodist Church and also Friendship Circle at the church. She was a 1944 graduate of Pleasant City High School.

Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, quilting, making candles and knitting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Maxine, Alice, Naomi and Connie.

She is survived by her husband, Glen Church, whom she married Oct. 12, 1946; one brother, Harold (Mary) Black of Byesville; one nephew, Jeff Rohrabaugh of Virginia; two nieces whom she raised, Peggy (Leslie) Lyons of Cambridge and Debbie (Steve) Titus of Westerville; three grandchildren, Matthew (Rebecca) Lyons, Alice (Doug) Maschue and Allie Titus; four great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Paul Fleming of Tiffin; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Feb. 5 at the Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville. Pastor Roger Morrow officiated.

Burial was in Halley's Ridge Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Friendship Circle at Pleasant City United Methodist Church, Pleasant City, OH 43772.
