She was born Feb. 7, 1937, in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Franklin and Lulu (McKnight) Baker.

Mrs. Hendricks retired from Southeastern Med, in 1998, where she loved taking care of people.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, former mayor Jack D. Hendricks, on Sept. 16, 1979. They were married July 7, 1956. Also deceased are two sisters, Ruth Hicks and Regina Leach; and a brother, Donald Baker.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, three daughters, Cindy (Bill) Ball and Debbie (Scott) Gebhart of Cambridge and Amy Hendricks of Byesville; her five "grandbabies," Kaitlyn Ball (fiancé Tyler Hittle), Joel Gebhart (fiancée Misti Gingerich), Jenna Gebhart, and Tyler and Lacey Freeman; and three "great-grandbabies," Ethan and Ryleigh Freeman, and Jacey Eubanks. She also leaves behind two sisters, Sandy Wiggins of St. Clairsville and Lou Misenhelder of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and two brothers, Frank Baker of Bridgeport and William Baker of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley loved playing with her puppy, Sadie Lou. She also enjoyed getting "on the road again" with her special girlfriends, Sally Evans, Benita Devolld and Barb Gesaman.

Shirley was an unbelievable mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her "grandbabies" and "great- grandbabies." No matter how old or young, they were always her "babies."

In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated and no calling hours will be observed.

A private family service will be held prior to burial at Northwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Guernsey County, P.O. Box 1165, Cambridge, OH 43725, or to the Guernsey County Cancer Society, 927 Wheeling Ave., Suite 205, Cambridge, OH 43725.
