DOVER -- Claymont again laid claim to the team championship at the East Central Ohio League wrestling championships Saturday at Dover High School with a team total of 222.5 points.
New Philadelphia was second with 196.5 points with Cambridge finishing third with 180.5 points. Coshocton finished fourth (146), Dover fifth (134.5) followed by River View in sixth with 73 points and Meadowbrook seventh with 40 points.
Cambridge claimed four weight-class champions with Sawyer Leppla taking the 103-pound division, Tyler Berger winning the 140-pound class, Caleb Gunn was the champion at 215 pounds and Zac Wojciechowski claimed the 285-pound title.
The Bobcats also brought home four second place finishers with Andrew Bertubin placing second in the 112-pound class, J.T. Good was the runner-up at 119 pounds, Tim Fox posted a second in the 125-pound division and Dillon VanDyne claimed second at 130 pounds.
Tanner Roller was the other Bobcat place finisher with a fourth in the 160-pound division.
Two place winners for the Meadowbrook Colts were CodyCompton with a third-place finish in the 152-pound class and Will Larrison with a fourth in the 112-pound division.
Other league champions include: Luke Langdon of Claymont (112), Zach Cantrell of Coshocton (119), Josh Seldenright from New Philadelphia (125), Kyle Warner from Claymont (130), Desi Felgenhaur of New Philadelphia (135), Brogan Endres of Dover (145), Tyler Beckley from Claymont (152), Mitch Riker from New Philadelphia (160), Keith Johnson of Dover (171) and Ian Kelton from River View in the 189-pound division.
The 112 pound champion, Langdon of Claymont, was tabbed the Most Valuable Wrestler of the tournament and Claymont coach Eric Toukonen was named ECOL wrestling Coach of the Year.
NEXT -- Meadowbrook will both return to the mat on Friday and Saturday Division II Sectional hosted by the Colts.
