SENECAVILLE -- The Richland Township trustees regular monthly meeting was Feb. 3. The trustees discussed and approved an amended cell phone policy, personnel policy, a new road acceptance petition, applying for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Litter grants and no dumping signs. Also approved were permanent appropriations, monthly financial report, payment of bills and January meeting minutes as presented by Fiscal Officer John Apperson. It was reported that the installation of the new Fuel Tanks Card System has been completed and ready for inspection. Road issues discussed were purchasing road salt next year through the State Cooperative Purchasing program; information on the county engineer's bid for road materials for dust control, stone, and emulsion; a Raven Road ditch; Grywalski Lane cattle crossing grates; and Richport Drive. The trustees signed the annual Quaker City fire contract. It was noted that applications for an employment opening in the spring are available at the Richland Township building. Betty Duche' said she would be at the Township Building Feb. 4 for the Guernsey County Health Department H1N1 vaccination clinic, would be attending the Ohio Township Association Conference workshops in Columbus on Feb. 18-19 and that HB 9 Public Records Training at the Guernsey County Administration Building on April 2. The township trustees have been contacted by residents requesting driveways plowed and cinders or stone for driveways. Townships trustees are not authorized to work on private driveways, private property or private roads. The trustees would maintain a referral list of service providers for residents. Contact any trustee and provide contact information if you do snow plowing and deliver stone. One visitor attended the meeting regarding cemetery lots deeds.
