A Cambridge man facing a burglary charge in connection with a break-in at a Spruce Street residence in Byesville was granted a personal recognizance bond Tuesday when he appeared in Cambridge Municipal Court. Brent Alloway, 28, entered a "not guilty" plea to the third-degree felony offense and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 11. According to court documents, the personal recognizance bond contains special conditions. He was charged with burglary by the Guernsey County Sheriff's Office following an investigation by deputies. Alloway is also facing a misdemeanor theft charge filed by Cambridge police on Feb. 19 after he allegedly stole an item from a Wheeling Avenue business. A trial in that case is scheduled for April 19. Both cases remained under investigation by law enforcement officials. Comments
