Ralph G. Spears

Ralph G. Spears, 69, of Byesville, died Monday (March 8, 2010) at Autumn Health Care Center.

He was born on Oct. 28, 1940, in Sod, W.Va., a son of the late Roy J. Spears and Bessie K. Pauley Spears.

Mr. Spears served his country in the U.S. Army, then worked for Chrysler in Twinsburg as a tow motor operator.

He attended Faith Assembly Church and was a member of the Open Road Campers Club. He loved to hunt and ride ATVs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Della Mae Cooper Spears; an infant brother, Roy J. Spears Jr.; a grandchild, Kiah Exline; and a nephew, Donald Joseph Thompson.

Surviving are a special lady friend, JoNell Cooper of Byesville; a daughter, Kathern L. (Anny Harris) Spears of Stow; a stepdaughter, Annette (Alan) Cutlip of Byesville; two sisters, Lorraine (Don) Thompson of Bargersville, Ind. and Sherry (Walter) Vanderpool of Stow; a brother, Earnie R. (Janet) Spears of Lebanon, Ind.; a grandchild, J.T. Spears-Harris; a stepgrandchild, Jennifer (Mike) Skaggs; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 11 at the Bundy-Law Funeral Home, Cambridge, with Jimmy Carrier officiating.

Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
