CANTON -- Eleanor M. Hammond, 90, died on July 13, 2010, at Affinity Medical Center in Massillon.
She was born Jan. 19, 1920, in Cambridge, daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Pezel) Gates, and raised in Byesville.
She was a homemaker after retiring from the Hoover Company in North Canton. Eleanor enjoyed bowling and euchre and loved being surrounded by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl and Jacob Gates; great-grandson, Alijah; and daughter-in-law, Edna (Case) Hammond.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Don (Susan) Hammond, Jeff (Gerry) Hammond and Kevin (Stephanie) Hammond; a sister, Edna Gilcher and brother, Chuck Gates. There are 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were July 20 at Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road N.W., Canton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Don Hammond c/o Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home.
