BYESVILLE --Meadowbrook High hosted Shenandoah in a track dual meet that saw the Colts find great success.
In the girls' meet, Kaity Dettra swept the distance meets for the Lady Colts, taking the 800 (2:58.54), the 1600 (6:34.30), and the 3200 (14:01.54). Mara Cain took both hurdles events, winning the 100 in 16.17 and the 300 in 47.58. Cain also took the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.28.
Darien Singleton took the 100 for the hosts with a time of 13.18, and Mercedes Taylor won the 400 in 1:06.57. The Lady Colts also saw their 4x800 team win, recording a time of 12:50.30.
Meadowbrook also experienced similar results on the field side of things. Katherine Jirles won the Discus with a toss of 90-01 and took shot with a throw of 29-04. Kelly Delancy won the pole vault with a leap of 9-00.50 and Lacey Kirkman leapt 15-05 to win the long jump. Crystal Dorland was victorious in the hammer throw with a throw of 76-08.
The Lady Zeps took wins in the 4x200 with a time of 2:29.11 and the 4x400 in 5:17.18.
On the boys' side, the Colts also did very well.
Taylor Hunt won the 100 (11.5), the 200 (23.67), and the 400 (54.99) for the hosts. Jake Black was victorious in the 800 (2:17.14), and Matt Callihan won the only hurdles event, the 300, in 45.9.
Much like their male counterparts, the Colts boys swept the field events from the visiting Zeps. Calihan won the high jump with a leap of 5-06. Nathan Milton claimed the pole vault, jumping 13-00. Jeremy Quinn was victorious in the long jump, launching himself 18-01.75 for the win. Jason German won the shot put with a throw of 47-08 and the hammer throw with a mark of 137-03. Ty Egnot tossed the discus 130-10 for the win.
For the Zeps, Julian Law paced himself to take the 1600 (5:28.07) and the 3200 (12:17.81).
The Zeps also swept the relay events, winning the 4x100 (57.56), the 4x200 (2:03.06), and the 4x400 (4:38.69).

NEW CONCORD -- Meadowbrook High put forth a solid showing at the John Glenn Invitational on Friday night, placing third in the girls' competition and fifth on the boys' side.
Granville won the girls competition, finishing with 113 points, followed by Dover with 91.33 and Meadowbrook with 63. Cambridge placed seventh with 44.75 points and John Glenn was 10th with 28.33.
Darien Singleton led the Lady Colts with a win in the 100 meters (13.47) and a second in the 300 hurdles (47.08).
Meadowbrook's Mara Cain captured the 100 hurdles in a time of 16.43 seconds and placed third behind Singleton in the 300 hurdles (47.35).
Rounding out the top individual finishers for MHS was Kelly Delancy with a third-place finish in the pole vault (9-0).
Meadowbrook also brought home a win in the 4x200 relay, finishing in a time of 1:47.22.
Dover took home the boys' title with a score of 100.5, followed by Granville with 90, Tri-Valley with 69.5, Warren with 69.5 and Meadowbrook with 67.
Ty Egnot led the Colts with a pair of wins, capturing the shot put (49-0) and the discus (152-9).
Taylor Hunt continued his excellent sprinting season, winning the 400 meters (50.95) and placing third in the 100 meters (11.80) and the 200 meters (23.17).
Other top finishers include Shawn Light with a third in the pole vault (13-0) and Jason German with a third in the shot put (48-3).
The Colts also took third in the 4x200 relay (1:33.90).
